REGISTERING A FIRM IN THE CAYMAN ISLANDS

As a credible international financial centre, compliance with accounting and auditing standards is fundamental. Almost all entities that are regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority or listed with the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange, must have audited accounts. It is no surprise then that there is a high demand for audit and accounting services.

Under the Accountants Act, CIIPA is responsible for registering public practice (audit) firms, licensing audit practitioners, and ensuring audit quality through its Quality Assurance Review System (QARS). CIIPA is also the AML/CFT supervisor for the profession. Learn more about our role as AML/CFT supervisor here.

Who should register with CIIPA? Any firm engaging in public practice or providing accounting services, such as bookkeeping, payroll, accountants preparation, or tax advisor must register with CIIPA. Please read A Guide to Establishing an Audit or Accounting firm in the Cayman Islands to determine what licensing and registration you require. Once you have determined your registration requirements, review the help sheets and forms below as your next steps.
