Develop knowledge, skill and understanding of the general legal framework and of specific legal areas relating to business in the Cayman Islands. This an entry-level course for persons who are new to financial services in the Cayman Islands, and covers a range of specific legal areas relating to various aspects of business of most concern to accounting and finance professionals.

Participants will learn to:

  • Describe and explain how companies in the Cayman Islands are managed, administered and regulated
  • Recognise the legal implications relating to companies in difficulty or in crisis
  • Demonstrate an understanding of corporate crime and regulation

Price: $125 CISPA members, $175 non-CISPA members (includes lunch and morning and afternoon snacks). Due to high standing costs will not be issued, but if a registrant is unable attend a replacement can be sent by notifying admin@cispa.ky 24 hours prior to training session.

On the day: registration will open at 8:30 a.m. with the first session starting at 9 a.m.

About the presenters:


Prue Lawson is a Senior Manager with PwC’s Cayman Islands Advisory practice and has over 12 years corporate restructuring and insolvency experience, covering a wide range of industries, both in Australia and the Cayman Islands.  
Prue is a Chartered Accountant, and has managed over 100 fund liquidations in the Cayman Islands, through both voluntary and compulsory processes over the last 7 years. 


Michelle Morgan is a Senior Vice President of The Harbour Trust Co. Ltd. and is responsible for providing fiduciary services to Harbour’s fund clients, including serving as an independent director for such funds. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and has worked in the fund industry since 1996. She is also an Accredited Director (Chartered Secretaries of Canada). Michelle is an accomplished fund professional with specialised skills in new fund start-ups, unit trusts, compliance, valuation and investor services.



Lisa Bowyer is a successful project manager and intelligence expert with a high level of understanding of the purpose and risks of regulation, international legal and regulatory requirements and the drivers and strategies of financial markets and products. Highly skilled in drafting of inter alia, legislation, other mandatory provisions, guidance, and policies and procedures, she has an excellent appreciation of policy determining law and regulation.  Lisa received her first law degree in 1991, her Masters degree in 1994, and her doctorate in 1999.
