About the Speaker:

Sandra B. Richtermeyer, PhD., CMA, CPA

Sandra B. Richtermeyer represents the IMA on the COSOBoard. She is the 2011-2012 IMA Chair Emeritus and served as IMA Chair in 2010-2011. She is also Professor and Chair of the Department of Accountancy and Business Law at Xavier University. 

 

Overview:

Enterprise risk management (ERM) in business includes the methods and processes used by organizations to manage risks and seize opportunities related to the achievement of their objectives. (Wikipedia).  Enterprise risk management is key element of good governance without which most organizations will fail to achieve their desired results.  Dr. Sandra Richtermeyer, who has previously presented the COSO ERM Framework to audiences in the Cayman Islands, will spend a day discussing a typical implementation strategy as well as the dos and don’ts of a successful implementation in a typical organization.  The Framework is equally effective in both the public and private sectors.

Whether you are a practitioner working with an organization or a senior to middle manager working in an organization, you will learn the key steps about implementation of an Enterprise Risk Management framework.  More importantly, you will learn how the implementation of an ERM is integrated with your financial planning making it a very powerful tool for ensuring the organization's success for meeting it's goals.
