The Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) hosted its annual Momentum Conference on Monday, 24 Nov. at the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, drawing professionals from across the financial services and public sectors for a full day of learning, discussion and networking.
CIIPA, CILPA and the LSSA recently hosted a first-of-its-kind international anti-money laundering (AML) capacity building workshop, bringing together regional leaders from the accountancy and legal professions to strengthen collaboration in the fight against financial crime.
CIIPA celebrated the achievements of 32 honourees at the 17th Annual CIIPA Awards Gala on Saturday, 27 September, recognising new graduates and recently qualified professionals across the profession’s key pathways. The evening also featured the presentation of CIIPA’s three special awards to individuals who exemplify excellence and service to the community and the profession.
CIIPA Director of Regulatory Affairs and Policy, Alfred Tweneboah, was invited to participate in a collaborative discussion at a recent Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) training event in Trinidad and Tobago, focussed on the specific money-laundering & terrorist financing risks and vulnerabilities associated with firms of accountants in the Cayman Islands.
