All CIIPA members are required to comply with the CPD requirements of their home professional accountancy organisation, where applicable.
Where a member is not subject to CPD requirements of another recognised professional body, the member must comply with the International Education Standards (IES) issued by the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB), specifically IES 7 – Continuing Professional Development, as adopted by CIIPA.
IES 7 establishes a lifelong learning approach to CPD and requires professional accountants to develop and maintain the competence necessary to perform their roles effectively.
In line with IES 7, CIIPA expects members to complete:

Verifiable and Non-Verifiable CPD
Verifiable CPD refers to learning activities that can be objectively evidenced and measured, including:

Members engaged in public practice, regulated activities, or specialised roles may be expected to undertake additional or targeted CPD in areas such as ethics, audit and assurance, AML/CFT, taxation, or regulatory developments.
Members must maintain appropriate CPD records, including supporting evidence for verifiable CPD, and retain such records for review if requested.
CIIPA monitors compliance with CPD requirements through annual CPD audits, selecting a sample of its membership each year for review. Members selected for audit are required to submit CPD records and supporting documentation within the specified timeframe.
Confirmation of CPD compliance is also required as part of the annual membership renewal process. Failure to comply with CPD obligations may result in regulatory or disciplinary action in accordance with CIIPA’s governing framework.
CIIPA supports members in meeting their CPD obligations through guidance, regulatory updates, seminars, workshops, and access to learning resources.
