About Us

The Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) is the statutory body responsible for supporting, developing, and regulating the accounting profession in the Cayman Islands. CIIPA protects public trust and Cayman’s reputation by promoting the highest standards of ethics, competence, and professional conduct.  As the AML/CFT supervisory authority for the accounting profession, CIIPA works closely with government, regulators, international standard-setters, and industry stakeholders to ensure alignment with global expectations.

CIIPA is committed to strengthening the profession through robust Continuing Professional Development (CPD). We deliver a comprehensive CPD programme that includes technical training, regulatory guidance, ethics, governance, AML/CFT, emerging issues, and skills development. Our CPD offerings support members at every stage of their careers and ensure the profession remains future-focused and globally competitive.

CIIPA's Membership Statistics

1,075 Members

CIIPA membership comprises Associate, Practitioner, Regular, Retired and Student members. Our regular members are highly qualified and experienced accounting professionals, also registered with overseas professional accounting institutes. Membership is renewed annually.

170 Licenced Practitioners

The Accountants Act requires accounting practitioners engaged in public practice be licensed with CIIPA. Licensing is subject to annual renewal.

125 Registered Accounting Service Providers

Sole practitioners and accounting businesses must obtain a trade and business license and must also register with CIIPA before offering accounting services in the Cayman Islands.

43 Public Practice Firms

The Accountants Act require that licensed sole practitioners and firms of licensed practitioners must register the firm with CIIPA. Registration is subject to annual renewal.
