Cayman Islands high schools and university faculty play a pivotal role in guiding students along their academic and career paths. To support you in having those meaningful conversations with students who are interested in pursuing an accounting career, we are hosting this information session to update you on the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, one of the globally recognised pathways to becoming a chartered accountant.
Shameed Abraham FCCA , audit specialist, owner and expert tutor of Abraham Accountancy Training — an ACCA Gold Approved Learning Provider — will be present at the session to share his knowledge and experience around what he has been doing in the Caribbean as it relates to student advisory services. The session will include topics on:
- Why choose the ACCA?
- Where to begin with possible exemptions available
- The structure and best sequence of the exams
- Things to do to achieve faster exam progression by students
- Ways for students to study and sit exams in the Cayman Islands
- Common mistakes made by students
- Quality tuition providers
- ACCA resources and how to utilise them
- Insights into how the qualification has evolved e.g. computer based exams and more.
There will be an opportunity for educators to ask questions of Shameed and CIIPA during the session. If you would like to share your questions ahead of time, please email them to Marilyn.Layne@ciipa.ky.
